TransCanada Continues to Support Success of Alberta Youth

JA Southern Alberta (JASA) is thrilled to share that TransCanada has renewed their support of JA Southern Alberta’s Economics for Success program. TransCanada will generously donate $30,000 in support of the program each year for 2017, 2018, and 2019 for youth across southern Alberta.

The Economics for Success program is proudly in its 25th year of being hosted at a post-secondary institution, giving grade 9 students a new perspective on how informed choices can jump-start their future. The program encourages students to reflect on the advantages of remaining in school to acquire the knowledge, attitudes and skills needed for long-term career success.

For nearly 20 years, TransCanada has supported JASA with funding exceeding more than a half a million dollars. In addition to funding, TransCanada provides strong volunteer support for JA Southern Alberta programs in the classroom with a contribution of nearly 8,000 volunteer hours and reaching over 12,500 students. TransCanada employees were once again in the classroom to deliver the Economics for Success program at our annual SAIT event on May 1, 2018, engaging with nearly 600 students.
